Heavy Early is a pop punk/alternative rock band from New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada. They have been playing basements, bars, and bowling alleys across Canada since late 2014. Featuring Meghan on vocals and guitar, Jesse on lead guitar, Kevin on bass, and Kenneth on drums and vocals, these are four best friends who love being on stage together. Their closeness comes across in their lively, high-powered shows which have been catching peoples attention everywhere they play. Influenced by bands such as (but not limited to) Chumped, RVIVR, Latterman, and Sonic Youth, their songs are about the misadventures of lost 20-somethings trying to navigate a world that they don't fit into.
The band released a four song demo in April 2016 through Bread Press in Halifax, NS on a limited run cassette. Most recently they finished recording their debut five song EP, "Pretty Good You," at Echo Chamber in Halifax with James O'Toole and Francisco Lopes, which available now. In May of 2017, the band released an entirely fan shot video for their song "Wildlife" and followed that up with their next videos for "You Said This Would Be Fun" and "Smoke Break." These songs appear on their EP. In November of 2017 the song "Surf's Down (Summers A Bummer)" appeared on Sick Scene Productions Going Nowhere 2 compilation.
